Women in Construction Week 2019 Recap!

NAWIC Boise Chapter 245 spent Women in Construction Week 2019 out and about in our community. Billboards, window clings, jobsite tours, dinner and networking, delivering goodies and introducing ourselves to local companies with potential new members, as well as a donation drive for our local Meridian Canine Rescue! We had a great turnout from members and new faces and enjoyed our week!

We used our power for a fun and successful WIC Week 2019! Thank you to everyone who support us!

Block Kids 2019: A Huge Success!!

We had a great time today at Block Kids! We had 69 kids from K-6 participate today and fun was had by all. After the kids were done, we had a sticker table where they could decorate their hard hats, a face painting station, and Corbin Maxey came to entertain us all! We learned a lot about reptiles and want to thank Corbin and Samantha for coming out today! Congratulations to Bryce Tyler (5th Grade) for being our grand prize winner - his entry will go on to the PNW Regionals! A huge thank you goes out to all of our sponsors and volunteers - we could not do this without you! Thank you again and we look forward to next year!

Block Kids 2018

The Boise NAWIC Chapter #245 held the 2018 Blocks Kids competition on January 20, 2018 at Boise State University’s College of Engineering. There were 48 total contestants that participated in the competition ranging in grades from Kindergarten to Sixth. Each contestant was given 100 building blocks, a piece of foil, a string, a rock, and a poster board to build something related to the construction industry. The creativity of the contestants shined throughout the event. We had cranes, equipment, dams, buildings, and even safety personnel built. We awarded a total of six first and second place prizes along with one grand prize winner. A big thank you goes out to our entertainment for the morning – Kipp Sherry Magic and Marketing, LLC. and Face Painting by Andrea Glenn and to our awesome photographer Ashley with Ruby Shoes Photography!
